The NHA wishes to caution and remind the readers of this book that every mother/child relatiohship is, to some degree, unique both physiologically and emotionally. There is no patented formula for birthing, breastfeeding, and child rearing that will automatically apply in the same manner and with the same degree of success in every situation. Dr. Shelton’s book is not intended, nor should it be taken, as a rigid yardstick. In the application of a particular guideline there is alawys room for flexibility based on individual circumstances. Therefore, the advice and guidance of a Hygienic Physician should generally be considered.
